By Bubbles Sabharwal & Lushin Dubey

Why Speech and Drama?

As a part of nurturing children, drama and speech are essential parts to help them develop during childhood. The actions, expressions, movements that are used to convey the message are all parts of drama and speech. These serve as ideal source for cross-curricular learning and are valuable tools for use in many arenas. In particular, drama develops literacy skills – supporting speaking and listening, extending vocabulary and encouraging children to understand and express different points of view.

Why enroll your child under dramatics activity?

Drama and speech activities are already natural parts of most children’s lives before they start school as children often like to interact with others. At Launchpad in our active after school programme of teaching drama, we ask them to do exactly this. Rather than sitting still and listening children are encouraged to move, speak and respond to one another. This, in turn, helps them develop skills such as creativity, communication, empathy, self-confidence, cooperation, leadership and negotiation. Most importantly, drama activities are fun – making learning both enjoyable and memorable.

What are the benefits of learning drama and speech activities?

The list of benefits is quite lengthy, some of them are mentioned here under:

  • Self Confidence
  • Cooperation
